Windward Animal Hospital

I wish I had checked around more before I came to this animal hospital. They like to run tests and they list out every single procedure to charge money. I thought that was the same everywhere, so I paid $845 for office visit, X-ray, teeth exam, and some medicines. My rabbit was not much better so I came back in 2 days, and they made me another list of items that costed over $700. I declined the majority and only chose to get another X-ray, and with another charge of office visit, the bill was over $300 (I was too upset to get a receipt). Now I have paid over $1100 and still didn't know what's wrong with my rabbit. I was hoping the doctor would replace the two injections I paid and was asked to do myself and failed, but instead he required to run a blood test to prescribe more medicines. This would've costed me another $250. I started feeling I was being overcharged for everything. I called around and found another animal clinic in Cumming. They took me in today even without an appointment (despite the fact that the doctor was fully booked today as well as tomorrow) because they were concerned about my rabbit. This time, the office visit + X-ray + medicine I wanted all together costed $172. Based on my experience, my only advice is that please check around and don't automatically think that an over $700 bill is the norm. I have another update I need to include - the medicine prescribed by the second clinic seemed working (that's the one Winward refused to prescribe without a bloodtest). So I took my rabbit in for the second visit in Cumming a few days later. The doctor examined my rabbit, gave him some IV fluid, as well as prescribed the same medicines for 6 more days. I can guarantee you that this visit would cost another $300-$400 if not more had I have gone to Winward. Check out my 3rd invoice here, I was shocked - only $14! Zero charge for office visit and IV fluid because it's a follow up and more importantly, the doctor here truly cares about the well-being of my pet and he does his best to keep his cost low for his patients. Again just to provide another real data point and hopefully my sharing can help someone out there. I know I would have saved >$1100 if I had known this before. I hardly do reviews, but this is an eye-opening experience.

The technician that helped Beatrice and me was lovely. She was very kind and accommodating, handling all of my requests and being very friendly and welcoming. The vet was fantastic as well; he spent lots of time with me, answering all of my questions. I felt listened to and validated, and I didn’t feel rushed in the appointment. The estimate was clear and accurate at the end of the visit, and pricing was reasonable. The whole visit was a very positive experience!

Front desk is SO NICE and so helpful! Just spoke with a lady to assist me with some bunny questions and concerns and she generously took 10 minutes to talk with me about my bunny and find out what would be best for him. Will be bringing him in two weeks to be reevaluated for his hormone health and happiness. She also referred me to the ga house of rabbit society and I was so amazed by how generous she was with really trying to help me with our challenges! Thank you for your education and direction!

I'm always confident that we are getting the best care. The staff is wonderful!

Took my bun Son Theodore to get his shot and neutered here, they were so so good. I will be taking my other bun here as well!
